- A relatively common congenital (inherited) heart defect in the dog and a rare defect in the cat.
- It is most often identified in large and giant breed dogs such as the Newfoundland, Golden Retriever, Boxer, Rottweiler, German Shepherd, English Bulldog, Great Dane, German Short-haired Pointer, and Bouvier des Flandres. It is reported in many other purebreds as well as mixed breeds of dogs.
- It consists of abnormal tissue located just below the aortic valve that creates an obstruction the heart has to overcome to pump blood out to the body.
- Stenosis makes the heart work harder than normal. As a result, the heart muscle can become thickened (hypertrophied). The heart murmur is created by blood being pumped at a higher speed and pressure across the stenosis into the aorta.
- Weakness following exercise or excitement.
- In some advanced cases, coughing and difficulty breathing secondary to congestive heart failure.
- Dogs with mild SAS may have no clinical signs while moderately to severely affected dogs may be more symptomatic and are at an increased risk of sudden death secondary to arrhythmias.
- Echocardiogram with Doppler performed by a board-certified veterinary cardiologist.
- This allows visualization of the four heart chambers and valves as well as the anatomy of the subaortic area. Doppler allows estimation of the pressure created in the heart by the obstruction/stenosis. The degree of pressure elevation correlates with SAS severity.
- An electrocardiogram (ECG) may be required in patients with an irregular heart rhythm.
- A new genetic test is available at the Genetics lab at the N.C State College of Veterinary Medicine Genetics lab that may help screen certain breeds with this condition www.ncstatevets.org/genetics.
- Prophylactic antibiotics:
- All dogs with SAS are at an increased risk for developing infections of their aortic valve (endocarditis) and should also have some sort of herbal antibiotic when they have wounds or are undergoing surgery or dental procedures.
- Limited exercise:
- Leashed walks and short trips to the back yard for dogs with moderate to severe Health.

Most common heart condition is Enlarged Heart (Dilated Cardiomyopathy)
The incidence of DCM in dogs increases with age and usually affects dogs that are 4-10 years old. Cause of DCM condition is believed to have several factors, including nutrition, and genetics (poor breeding quality of health and nutritionally depleted)
Nutritional deficiencies related to amino acid Taurine and Carnitine, and the mineral magnesium have been found to contribute to the formation of DCM.Evidence also suggests that some breeds have a genetic susceptibility to DCM, such as the Doberman Pinscher, Boxer, Newfoundland, Scottish Deerhound, Irish Wolfhound, Great Dane and Cocker Spaniel. In some breeds, especially the Great Dane, males appear more susceptible to DCM than females. Reference: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/jsap.12841

Fluid Build Up?
* Read more about this condition AN023 DuraAid formula.
How does pleural effusion (fluid build up) develop?
The pleural cavity lies between the lungs and the inner lining of the chest wall. Normally, only about a teaspoon of clear fluid is present in this space. The pleura creates too much fluid when it’s irritated, inflamed, or infected. This fluid accumulates in the chest cavity outside the lung, causing what’s known as a pleural effusion. Certain types of cancer can cause pleural effusions, lung cancer.
Other causes of pleural effusions include:

Saddle Thrombosis ?
Prevent or Solution
Typically, cats that are predisposed to saddle thrombus have an underlying cardiac (heart) disease that increases turbulence in the flow of blood through the heart. This increased turbulence makes these patients more prone to the formation of clots. EXAMPLE: Hyperthyroidism and Feline hypertrophic cardiomyopathy- Hyperthyroid cats are prone to a cardiac condition called “hypertrophic cardiomyopathy” (HCH).
Therefore, saddle thrombus tends to be associated with cats that have hyperthyroidism. Cats that have formed a saddle thrombus typically appear very weak back end partially or fully paralyzed, unable to move the “rear legs” They are often vocalizing due to severe pain. When touched, the back legs are often cold and stiff, and sometimes there is panting and trouble breathing.
1. Yes, you can prevent “Aortic thromboembolism” from forming in cats with heart failure. * Read more helpful information AN305
2. Also if your cat has “Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy” which is defined by left ventricular hypertrophy w/o causative systemic or other cardiac diseases. It is the most common form of heart disease in the cat! Mitral regurgitation may develop from distortion of the left ventricular cavity and from the systolic anterior motion of the mitral valve (SAM).
Some people have good success using

Helps blood circulation
Traditionally, rutin has long been used to aid circulation. It’s thought that rutin can help strengthen and increase flexibility in blood vessels, such as your arteries and capillaries.
Strengthened blood vessels can improve your overall health. This may help ease related conditions, including bruises, spider veins, and varicose veins. There is also evidence that rutin can aid in treating hemorrhoids (which are caused by swollen veins) and recovering from hemorrhoid removal surgery.
Prevents blood clots
Research shows that rutin can prevent the formation of blood clots in certain animals. This suggests rutin may reduce the risk of blood clots.
Preventing blood clots can help lower your chances of developing life-threatening conditions such as:
deep vein thrombosis
Heart rhythm problems (heart arrhythmias) occur when the electrical impulses that coordinate your heartbeats don’t work properly, causing your heart to beat too fast, too slow or irregularly. Ventricular Septal Defect?
Symptoms and Signs of Ventricular Septal Defect.
The two lower chambers of the heart are the ventricles, and the wall between them is called the septum. A hole in the septum is called a septal defect, also referred to as a “hole in the heart.” This abnormality usually develops before birth and is found most often in infants. It causes oxygenated blood to mix with unoxygenated blood and results in the ventricles working harder than they should, which can lead to pulmonary hypertension or congestive heart failure.

Studies have shown that the mineral Magnesium is great for general heart health as well as pulmonary hypertension. The mineral helps lowers blood pressure or keeps it balanced, and is a common deficiency will offset the excessive calcium deposits as well. Magnesium will lead to reducing muscle pain as it relaxes both the muscles, but also the arterial blood flows. If these are more relaxed, then pulmonary hypertension is reduced.
Cardiac fibrosis commonly refers to the excess deposition of extracellular matrix in the cardiac muscle, but the term may also refer to an abnormal thickening of the heart valves due to inappropriate proliferation of cardiac fibroblasts. Fibrotic cardiac muscle is stiffer and is seen in the progression to heart failure.

As in people, there are two types of strokes in pets: ischemic (caused by insufficient blood supply) or hemorrhagic (caused by too much blood).
~ An ischemic stroke happens when a blood clot or other material becomes lodged in a vessel, preventing blood flow. Since the brain cells in that area are deprived of the oxygen and glucose needed to function properly, they eventually die.
~A hemorrhagic stroke, which is much less common in pets, happens when a vessel ruptures, usually because of trauma or disease. Brain cells can be damaged when excess blood within the skull compresses the cells, or from too much hemoglobin, a component of red blood cells, which can be toxic to neurons. In dogs, the most common underlying causes for ischemic strokes are Cushing’s disease (a condition associated with the adrenal glands), hypothyroidism (low thyroid hormone levels), chronic kidney disease and high blood pressure. Differentiate between the symptoms of a stroke and the symptoms of other conditions. A stroke is a sudden event. You should suspect a stroke if a pet that was fine and normal 5 minutes ago, is now struggling to get up. If the dog is struggling because it’s dizzy, such as if they have heart disease, this episode may pass within a few minutes, once the dog has caught its breath be able to rise and walk around. A dog that has had a stroke, however, will remain disorientated for hours or even days.
~ Please note, this symptom also overlaps with inflammation in the balance mechanism in the inner ear. ( middle ear infection)
~ In addition, there is a sliding scale of weakness, depending on the severity of the stroke. Sometimes if it is only mild the dog can stand and walk around slowly as if drunk, other times the dog is incapacitated, lies on their side and is barely conscious.

Congestive heart failure condition, or/and Cushing’s syndrome in a dog or Hyper-thyroid imbalances in a cat can also been seen.
Transient Ischemic Attack?
The underlying cause of a TIA often is a buildup of cholesterol-containing fatty deposits called plaques (atherosclerosis) in an artery or one of its branches that supplies oxygen and nutrients to your brain. Plaques can decrease the blood flow through an artery or lead to the development of a clot.
Hawthorn Berries in the formula and we know that from a 2011 report published in “Planta Medica” states hawthorn extract is an effective treatment for mild congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, and atherosclerosis. Hawthorn may also lower blood pressure. Cardiomyopathy can be associated with congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, and atherosclerosis (plaque) that leads to development of a clot, or hardening of the arteries. Along with the mineral supplement Magnesium – prevention of strokes and heart attacks.

Tachycardia is a fast heart rate — more than 100 beats per minute — that can either start in the heart’s lower chambers (ventricles) or upper chambers (atria). At these elevated rates, the heart is not able to efficiently pump oxygen-rich blood to the body. Tachycardia can be ventricular (in the lower chambers of the heart) or atrial (in the upper chambers of the heart), and the treatment set we suggest would be depending on what type of tachycardia one may have. Tachycardia can occur for several reasons.
Common causes of Tachycardia include:
When the heart beats too fast various symptoms may be experienced. These symptoms include:
Drugs Often prescribed
Beta-blockers, as a class of drugs, are primarily used to treat cardiovascular diseases and other conditions. Beta-blockers are used when symptoms of – tachycardia, hypertension, myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias ( which can be corrected with Magnesium), coronary artery disease, hyperthyroidism, essential tremor, aortic dissection, portal hypertension, glaucoma, and other conditions.
Beta Blockers – Adverse Side Effects
Beta receptors are found all over the body and induce a broad range of physiologic effects.
The blockade of these receptors with beta-blocker medications can lead to many adverse effects.
Example – Bradycardia and hypotension are two adverse effects that may commonly occur. Fatigue, Dizziness, Nausea, and Constipation are also widely reported. Also bronchospasm presents in patients on beta-blockers. Asthmatic patients are at a higher risk.
Beta-blockers can induce hyperglycemia and mask the hemodynamic signs, usually seen in a hypoglycemic patient, such as tachycardia. Reports of insomnia, sleep changes, and nightmares while using beta-blockers.
This effect is more pronounced with beta-blockers that cross the blood-brain barrier.
Carvedilol may increase edema in some pets.
Sotalol blocks the potassium channels in the heart and thereby induces QT prolongation. It increases the risk of torsades de pointes.
All beta-blockers, especially in pets with cardiac risk factors, carry a risk of heart block (fatal)

Side effects of DRUGS PRESCRIPTIONS.
Common Side Effects of the VETMEDIN drug.
The most commonly reported side effects of VETMEDIN were poor appetite, lethargy, diarrhea, dyspnea, azotemia, weakness, and ataxia. The prevalence of side effects was similar in the active control group (enalapril, an angiotensin-converting enzyme [ACE] inhibitor).
Common side effects of the UREX drug.
Symptoms of overdose may include weakness, dizziness, lethargy, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, sweating, mental confusion, blurred vision, tingling in the arms or legs, restlessness, headache, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), cramping, constipation, and symptoms associated with electrolyte and fluid depletion. The active ingredient in Urex is called frusemide which belongs to a group of medicines called diuretics. Diuretics are used to help the kidneys remove excess fluid from the body. Urex is used to treat a number of medical conditions, including edema (swelling of the body due to excess fluid).
HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE Drugs
Enalapril Maleate Drug
Enalapril is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor that is commonly prescribed by veterinarians for the treatment of high blood pressure in cats and dogs. Treatment of patients with congestive heart failure by helping to maintain normal blood pressure. Sometimes, it is used to treat a ventricle disorder which comes in the way of the heart’s ability to pump blood to the body. It can also be used in conjunction with other medications for the treatment of mild to severe heart failure.
Side Effects and Drug Reactions

Things like Potassium Gluconate (powder from capsule) and Magnesium Taurate (powder from capsule) is some of the minerals people like to choose to also add to their pets meals on a daily basis.
Degenerative Valve Disease (DVD)
Degenerative valve disease (DVD) of the valves between the atrium (upper chamber) and ventricle (lower chamber) of both the right and left sides of the heart. The valve on the left side is known as the mitral valve, whereas the valve on the right side is termed the tricuspid valve. DVD is caused by acquired degeneration or thickening of the mitral valve and/or tricuspid valves that results in back flow, or regurgitation, across the valve (causes a “leaky” valve). This regurgitation causes the audible heart murmur that was detected.
Your pet may have been characterized by mild to moderate or moderate to severe mitral and moderate tricuspid valve regurgitation with secondary enlargement of both the left atrium and left ventricle.
DVD occurs as a result of genetic determinants rather than dietary factors or life style. It is the most common type of cardiac disease identified in small breed dogs and is typically diagnosed in adult or geriatric patients.DVD is invariably progressive, and accordingly recheck echocardiograms are recommended to monitor changes in heart size and function over time. Based on findings your Vet may suggest cardiac medication drugs. Possibly a drug called Pimobendan helps the heart to pump stronger and has been shown to delay the onset of 8-15 months.

PLAQUE BUILD UP – NARROWING OF ARTERIES ?
“Atherosclerosis” or “Arteriosclerosis” Heart (Cardiovascular) symptoms
~ Plaque “build up” in your arteries (Atherosclerosis)
Atherosclerosis symptoms can causes plaque to clog and narrow your arteries over time. As the innermost layer of the blood vessels (endothelium) is constricted by the deposition of fat, calcium and cellular debris. Atherosclerosis leads to the narrowing of the artery, which in turn reduces the flow of blood passing through it. The reduced blood flow results in a depletion of the amount of oxygen and nutrients reaching the affected part of the body.
*Suggest – Magnesium 284 (mineral) to balance remove calcium (plaque) from arteries, in conjunction with AN022 Set of 3 or if no symptoms can just use the Herbal Mix AN073 Heart Tonic *dissolving plaque build up herbs.
~ Coronary artery (Arteriosclerosis)
Arteriosclerosis is a broader term for the condition in which the arteries narrow and harden, leading to poor circulation of blood throughout the body. Atherosclerosis is a specific kind of arteriosclerosis, but these terms are often used interchangeably.
*Suggest – Magnesium 284 (mineral) to prevent plaque build up, in conjunction with HAMPL Circulation & Heart Balance 266-3 formula . But if patient has symptoms of breathing, fainting, lethargic etc symptoms … also see AN022-1 Congestive Heart Failure 22-1 formula

Medicinal Herbal Uses
Ginkgo Biloba Herb
Our herbal formula combines the peripheral – circulation – building benefits of ginkgo with the heart – strengthening and stabilizing properties of hawthorn into one for maximum circulatory support.
Research indicates that the herb ginkgo’s circulatory – system benefits may result from this special ability. Randomized, double-blind clinical studies using standardized hawthorn berry extract show that hawthorn appears to increase the efficiency of nerve impulses in, and protect against oxygen deprivation of, the heart muscle.
The research team concluded that “Ginkgo biloba” is a potential therapeutic treatment for preventing atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis happens when your artery walls progressively get thicker and harder as a result of fatty deposits. High levels of bad cholesterol contribute to the disease, as do smoking and diabetes. Atherosclerosis is largely responsible for angina, heart attacks, and strokes. Get your doctor’s advice about having your cholesterol levels checked and consider taking ginkgo to keep your arteries free from harmful fatty deposits.
Also, controlled study and found that hawthorn extract can improve heart function in patients suffering from chronic heart disease. These Hawthorn patients also reported fewer overall symptoms, less fatigue and less shortness of breath.

Ginkgo biloba-induced frequent ventricular arrhythmia
Cayenne Herb (Capsicum Annuum) Capsicum is an herb, and the fruit of the capsicum plant is used to make medicine.
Capsicum increases metabolism by immediately influencing the venous structure. It is remarkable with its immediate effects on the circulatory system as it feeds the vital elements into the cell structure of capillaries, veins, arteries and helps adjust blood pressure to normal levels. Yes, cayenne pepper for high blood pressure is certainly one of its core uses, but it cleans the arteries as well.It also stimulates the peristaltic motion of the intestines and aids in assimilation and elimination. When taken internally, it warms the body and has even been used by some herbalist doctors to help severe frostbite as cayenne not only facilitates the healing of the flesh but it helps rebuild tissue as well. Notwithstanding its hot taste, it is superb for rebuilding the tissue in the stomach for it actually facilitates rapid healing with stomach and intestinal ulcers. Capsicum for ulcers is not something most would have considered due to its native calidity but the author can testify to this aspect of this wonder herb.
Cayenne Can Stop Heart Attack
Capsaicin is a resin-like compound that is known for its thermogenic properties – which means it increases body temperature and is perhaps the greatest natural stimulant known. It does not cause jitters, palpitations, increase in blood pressure and hyperactivity that most conventional stimulants cause.
One of the most notable recognition that cayenne gained has been its ability to stop a stroke or heart attack.
Dr. Christopher testified, ‘In 35 years of practice, and working with the people and teaching, I have never on house calls lost one heart attack patient and the reason is, whenever I go in–if they are still breathing–I pour down them a cup of cayenne tea (a teaspoon of cayenne in a cup of hot water, and within minutes they are up and around)’.
Dr. Richard Anderson, the author of ‘Cleanse and Purify Thyself’ told that one of his friend doctor rushed to the parking lot to rescue a man who had a heart attack inside his car. The doctor administered cayenne tincture directly to the victim’s mouth and after several minutes, his heart started beating again. The capsaicin in cayenne pepper is unparalleled in its ability to reignite the heart and boost circulation. It has an exceptional ability to improve cardiovascular performance while lowering blood pressure.
Dr. Christopher told that cayenne tea, which is simply a cup of hot water added with one teaspoon cayenne powder, is one of the fastest-acting aids that you can feed the heart in case of heart attack. The warm tea works faster than capsules, tablets or cold tea because the heat opens up the cells, making them expand so cayenne can reach the heart faster.
Cayenne pepper is a popular anti-inflammatory herb. Chronic inflammation affects majority of the population because of environmental toxins, poor diet, chronic elevation of cortisol or stress hormone and other factors. The active component capsaicin present in cayenne pepper may help reduce the effect or prevent atherosclerosis or clogged arteries by regulating inflammation. Chronic inflammation triggers and pushes the development of atherosclerosis by encouraging fatty deposits in the arteries.
A 2013 study revealed that capsaicin prevents mast cells – inflammatory cells that have been found to be highly prominent in many inflammatory diseases such as asthma and allergies. Hence, taking plenty of cayenne pepper can be an effective way to reduce inflammation of the body. Also, cayenne pepper is rich in Vitamin A, which helps in reducing inflammation with its antioxidant effect. This herb is a potent antioxidant that may help reduce oxidative damaged from free radicals. Such damage is one of the top causes of inflammation.
How Chronic Inflammation Causes Atherosclerosis and Blood Clots
How exactly inflammation plays a role in stroke and heart attack remains a hot topic of ongoing research. Although it’s not proven that chronic inflammation causes heart disease, inflammation is very common in stroke and heart disease patients and is believed to be an atherogenic response.
Burdock Root herb – contains good amounts of electrolyte potassium (308 mg or 6.5% of daily required levels per 100 g root) and low in sodium. Potassium is an important component of cell and body fluids that helps control heart rate and blood pressure. This herb root contains small quantities of many vital vitamins. Burdock also purifies the blood. Burdock is also used for high blood pressure, hardening of the arteries (arteriosclerosis), and liver disease.
Red clover herb – is a source of many nutrients including calcium, chromium, magnesium, niacin, phosphorus, potassium, thiamine, and vitamin Cardiovascular – Researchers theorize that red clover might help protect against heart disease, with stronger, more flexible arteries (called arterial compliance), which can help prevent heart disease. Red clover may also have blood-thinning properties, which keeps blood clots from forming. It appears to improve blood flow.
Hawthorn Berries herb – has a long history of use for treating heart disease. Hawthorn can be used in cardiomyopathy to improve heart function associated with congestive heart failure and relieve angina, or chest pain. A 2011 report published in “Planta Medica” states hawthorn extract is an effective treatment for mild congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, and atherosclerosis. Hawthorn may also lower blood pressure. Cardiomyopathy can be associated with congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, and Atherosclerosis (plaque) that leads to development of a clot, or hardening of the arteries.
Bilberry Herbs for the Heart
It Improves Heart Functioning. The antioxidants found in bilberry extract are anti-inflammatory in nature. It helps cure diseases like varicose veins as well as the symptoms of heart disorders like burning in the chest. Angina is a type of heart disease that will cause you to feel moderate to severe chest pain. Depending upon which type of angina a person has, this condition will develop either when they are at rest (unstable angina) or after physical exertion (stable angina). Bilberry heart extract has been shown to improve this condition because this heart herb can open up the coronary arteries and thus improve the flow of blood and oxygen to the heart. This herb for the heart will also help to decrease cholesterol. As such, this is one of the most powerful herbs for the heart.
Why Bilberry Works – The reason that this heart alternative works so well is that it is rich in anthocyanins. Actually, any berries that have a deep red or purple color are rich in anthocyanins. This is what gives them their color and the deeper this color is, the higher the amount of anthocyanins that berry has in it. Anthocyanins are powerful antioxidants that have been shown to lower the risk of diseases to both the heart and the cardiovascular systems as well as lower the risk of eye disease and cancer too. Scientists are still studying this antioxidant and its potential curative properties when it comes to humans.
Coleus herb – Standardized extract of coleus containing forskolin can be used to treat cardiomyopathy. Forskolin may improve heart function in congestive heart failure and cardiomyopathy by increasing the force of the heart’s contraction, dilating coronary arteries and lowering blood pressure without increasing your heart’s need for oxygen.
Dan Shen Herb – a Powerful Cardiovascular Chinese Herb
Dan She improves CHD markers – In one randomized, placebo-controlled human study, Dan Shen was able to improve a number of blood markers that pertain to cardiovascular disease in a group of participants with an active coronary heart disease (CHD) diagnosis. The active group of 63 participants received 270mg of Dan Shen three times per day over a three month period, whereas an equal number of subjects in the placebo group took placebo three times per day. At the conclusion of the study, the active group experienced reductions in the following makers: triglycerides, total cholesterol, LDL, Lp(a), gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT), direct bilirubin, uric acid and homocysteine. Dan Shen also increased levels of HDL, ApoA, ApoB, ApoE, total bilirubin and indirect bilirubin. The authors conclude that Dan Shen is able to reduce the risk of coronary heart disease by improving markers related to CHD (12).
Myocardial infarction – A rat study evaluated the protective effects of Dan Shen in myocardial ishemia-induced rats. After administering Dan Shen, researchers measured the size of the myocardial infarction as well as inflammatory markers and the activity of anti-oxidative enzymes. They found that Dan Shen reduced the infarction and several inflammatory markers, including C-reactive protein, IL-6, tumor necrosis factor-alpha and malondialdehyde. It also increased the activities of superoxide dismutase and serum levels of glutathione. The authors conclude that Dan Shen provides significant cardioprotective benefits against acute ischemic myocardial injury in rats and speculate that the benefits may lie in its anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties (13).
Stroke prevention – A human study evaluated the ability of Dan Shen dripping pills to protect against secondary stroke occurrence in a group of 106 participants who had suffered from ischemic stroke or a transient ischemic attack (TIA) within the last 20 days. The patients were divided roughly in half into active and placebo groups and monitored over the course of one year. During that time period, incidence of recurrent stroke and TIA were lower in the active group than in placebo (9.6% vs 24.1). In addition, blood C-reactive protein levels decreased significantly in the active group participants as compared to placebo. The authors conclude that Dan Shen treatment may reduce the risk of stroke and TIA recurrence, which they attribute to the anti-inflammatory effects of the herb (14).

General Dosing and Instructions Guide
For all species, size, and ages.
(a) “HOMEOPATHICS”are sold in either a clear liquid or tiny white pills or granules – both have no odour or taste) Easy “application dosing” for all species:
Refer to Bottle Label for suggested frequencies repeat dosing needed per day.
NOTE: the rule is one must “repeat a dose” more frequently with less time in between each application dose, which is more important than the amount given each time. Repeat application will provide faster action.
(b) “HERBAL MEDICINES ” (brown liquid – strong odour & tasting) ”Application dosing” for all species and sizes: Canine, equine, cow, sheep, goat : add herbal drops (as recommended on bottle label) to some (unsweetened apple sauce or apple juice) for canines and oral syringe side of mouth. Can add other vitamins (crushed) Alkaline green powders etc. to mix.
Refer to Bottle Label for amount of drops per species size. e.g 60 drops = 1 teaspoon
What I do for example: If I was needing to give herb treatments and/or vitamin supplements to feline or toy dog or other small animals – I add this herbal formula to a small bowl add some boiled water (about a teaspoon) to it so to dissolve the alcohol in it, let cool, then add what vitamins If needed (powder or crushed tab – a pinch) mixed in another 50ml of water, and oral syringe once a day or twice a day …smear on a little “vegemite paste” (if cannot get Vegemite in your country, try fresh pate or slippery elm powder added can help mask the taste) around and on tip of oral syringe, as felines seem to real like the taste of this paste, but not too much as it is quite a strong taste)
(c) “NUTRITIONAL Mix
Giving vitamins and supplements (tablets or powders)
Note: always crush tablet before adding to food or liquid mix. Felines or small animals: make up 1 cup of mixture, adding approx. a pinch of some type of Green powder (alkaline powder) or Chlorella powder (cleansing of toxins) or 1/4 Teaspoons of Slippery elm powder (to mask the taste) with 1 teaspoon of herbs if you are having to also give herbal medicines (i.e. brown liquid) Med to large animals: add twice to three times the amount.
DOSING: Feline or small animal: using an oral syringe draw up 1ml and gently small sips. Or add a teaspoon to meals if they don’t mind eating it with meals (mix well into food) Do not put in Fridge. Room temp is best as too cold is dislike by felines.
DOSING: Canine, equine, cow, sheep, goat: try mixing well into food and hand piece before feeding main meals. Or dose same as suggested for felines, but add three times as much herbal medicines and vitamins to 1/2 cup of water or (unsweetened) apple sauce or apple juice.
What I do for example: If i was needing to give herb treatments and/or vitamin supplements to feline or toy dog or other small animals – I add this herbal formula to 1/2 cup of boiled hot water to it so to dissolve the alcohol in it, let cool, then add what vitamins If needed (powder or crushed tab – a pinch) mixed in another 50ml of water, and oral syringe once a day or twice a day …. smear on a little “vegemite paste” (if cannot get Vegemite in your country, try fresh pate or slippery elm powder added can help mask the taste) around and on tip of oral syringe, as felines seem to real like the taste of this paste, but not too much as it is quite a strong taste)
Slippery Elm Powder If needing to add or use Slippery Elm powder
FOR CONDITIONS like …. diarrhea, stomach ulcers, or sore inflamed mouth or mouth ulcers, constipation, or IBS (i.e. colitis), plus it can also been given as a liquid meal given orally via syringe as it is highly nutritional (oral liquid feeding) for convalescing during illness when not eating solids.
CONVALESCING ..can been given as a liquid meal given orally via syringe as it is highly nutritional (oral liquid feeding) for convalescing during illness when not eating solids or not eating very well. ~ Add a small amount of powder to the mix to enough to make a runny liquid mix, if you put too much of the powder it will become thick and gluggy, if this happens you will need to add more liquid to it. Can add crushed vitamins and herbal medicines to this as well. OPTIONS: Oral dose in syringe or add to meals three times a day or more to maintain normal health again, then can stop or reduce frequencies.
