I reordered this set for the second time for my cat frankies ear issues . It helped the first time around , but i need to figure out what the cause of his ear issues are because they creep back i feel its allergies now so ive ordered the hampls allergy products to get to the root . But in the meantime till i figure out the cause the ear infection products are great and work so i can manage this without resorting to antibiotics or steroids

Expelling pus (smelly ears), is very important, especially needed for dogs will very narrow ear canals. Keeping in mind a chronic ear infection can cause a peripheral vestibular disorder (a dysfunction of the balance organs of the inner ear) or central vestibular disorder (a dysfunction of one or more parts of the central nervous system that help process balance and spatial information). Symptoms of ear infections can be painful inflammation, painful earache, profuse cadaverously smelling discharge, middle ear catarrhal, deafness, fever, imbalance, head tilting. Many times (if a swab was done) the lab results would show a severe Staphylococcal infection or sometimes Pseudomonas Auruginosa.
Example: Pseudomonas Auruginosa (P. aeruginosa), is a gram-negative bacillus, is ubiquitous in the environment but an uncommon inhabitant of the normal external ear canal and middle ear of dogs. As small animal veterinarians can attest, ears infected with P. aeruginosa can be some of their most challenging cases. (which is antibiotic drug resistant). Studies have reported moderate to high levels of resistance to some commonly used antimicrobials of P. aeruginosa isolates from cases of otitis externa.
Clinical signs
Animals with P. aeruginosa ear infections typically exhibit one or more of the following clinical signs or conditions:
~ head shaking or ear scratching
~ purulent exudate (occasionally hemopurulent or mucoid)
~ malodor
~ swelling, inflammation, and pain
~ ulceration
~ otitis media
When an Ear infection is either acute or chronic which continues for a longer period we see symptoms that can result from a peripheral vestibular disorder (a dysfunction of the balance organs of the inner ear) or central vestibular disorder (a dysfunction of one or more parts of the central nervous system that help process balance and spatial information). Other types of repair to nervous system causing cerebral ataxia paralysis.
Geriatric Peripheral Vestibular symptoms is a condition that occurs more commonly in elderly dogs, affecting a dog’s Vestibular system located in the inner ear.
Humans can develop a similar condition called BPPV (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo), which can be successfully treated by physiotherapists or try the below “Semont Maneuver” at home.
It may happen when you sit or stand too quickly, turn your head, or when you get out of bed. The symptoms usually last no more than a minute or maybe last longer.This condition is rarely serious, but it can be quite annoying. It is caused by the movement of small crystals in your ear that make you sensitive to gravity. When the crystals travel to the wrong location in your ear, it causes the canal in your ear to become sensitive to the position of your head.

Middle ear infections have a tendency to become chronic and may lead to hearing loss. Often the cause is viral that has been undetected.
Neuritis (inflammation of the nerve)
affects the branch associated with balance, resulting in dizziness or vertigo but no change in hearing. The term neuronitis (damage to the sensory neurons of the vestibular ganglion) is also used.
Labyrinthitis (inflammation of the labyrinth)
occurs when an infection affects both branches of the vestibulocochlear nerve, resulting in hearing changes as well as dizziness or vertigo.
The inner ear consists of a system of fluid-filled tubes and sacs called the labyrinth. The labyrinth serves two functions: hearing and balance.
Signals travel from the labyrinth to the brain via the vestibulocochlear nerve (the eighth cranial nerve), which has two branches. One branch (the cochlear nerve) transmits messages from the hearing organ, while the other (the vestibular nerve) transmits messages from the balance organs. The brain integrates balance signals sent through the vestibular nerve from the right ear and the left ear. When one side is infected, it sends faulty signals. The brain thus receives mismatched information, resulting in dizziness or vertigo.
Inner ear infections that cause vestibular neuritis or labyrinthitis are usually viral rather than bacterial. Although the symptoms of bacterial and viral infections may be similar, the treatments are very different, so proper diagnosis by a physician is essential.
Bacterial
In serous labyrinthitis, bacteria that have infected the middle ear or the bone surrounding the inner ear produce toxins that invade the inner ear via the oval or round windows and inflame the cochlea, the vestibular system, or both. Serous labyrinthitis is most frequently a result of chronic, untreated middle ear infections (chronic otitis media) and is characterized by subtle or mild symptoms. Less common is suppurative labyrinthitis, in which bacterial organisms themselves invade the labyrinth. The infection originates either in the middle ear or in the cerebrospinal fluid, as a result of bacterial meningitis. Bacteria can enter the inner ear through the cochlear aqueduct or internal auditory canal, or through a fistula (an abnormal opening) in the horizontal semicircular canal.

“Viral infections” of the “inner ear” are more common than bacterial infections, but less is known about them. An inner ear viral infection may be the result of a systemic viral illness or, the infection may be confined to the labyrinth or the vestibulocochlear nerve. Usually, only one ear is affected. Some of the viruses that have been associated with vestibular neuritis or labyrinthitis include herpes viruses (such as influenza, hepatitis, and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), herpes) Other viruses may be involved that are as yet unidentified because of difficulties in sampling the labyrinth without destroying it. Because the inner ear infection is usually caused by a virus, it can run its course and then go dormant in the nerve only to flare up again at any time. There is currently no way to predict whether or not it will come back.

What are the common EAR SYMPTOMS concerns Pain Symptoms and Behaviors?
If your dog or cat’s eardrum is perforated, the base of the ear and the external part of the ear canal will be painful to the touch. Your dog likely will shy away, yelp or even snap if you touch these parts of the ear.
Pain
commonly, a cat or dog with a perforated eardrum will refuse to eat or open its mouth, as moving the jaw causes even greater pain in the area of the ruptured eardrum. You may notice your dog pawing at its own head and ears, whining with pain, or becoming generally less active and more depressed.

General Dosing and Instructions Guide
For all species, size, and ages.
All products are GMP Manufactured, Human-Practitioner Grade, in low alcohol.
Which can come in either – Clear liquid, Small white pills or Granules
(In clear liquid form)
HUMAN- drip 3 to 4 drops orally or ¼ glass of water and sip as one dose.
PET pat into fur / skin with bottom of bottle. i.e. back of shoulder blades (not orally).
If not acute symptoms can add to some water and pour over food, as well as add drops into water dish, fish tank, or trough or dam for farm animals and canines. This is regarded as one dose for all size species and ages. Refer to Bottle Label for suggested frequencies repeat dosing needed per day if acute symptoms.
OR
(In small pill form)
PET or HUMAN: crush a pill (or whole) and add to gum/pouch of mouth to dissolve in saliva. Does not need to swallow it.
OR
(In granules form)
Add a small light sprinkle or a pinch to meals, or stir into water trough or bowl.
Casual repeat dosing can add to water bowl or feed dish or water trough for wildlife or farm animals.
OR
add a pinch of granules or 2 pills to approx. 1/2 or 1 cup of filtered water, stir well then add a tablespoon or more to meals or oral syringe 1-2ml side of mouth. Keep using the medicated water. Instead add drops (as recommended on bottle label) to some (unsweetened apple sauce or apple juice) for canines and oral syringe side of mouth. Can add other vitamins (crushed) Alkaline green powders etc. to mix. Must always dilute first (in hot water or food) before offering to pet or animal.
Refer to Bottle Label for amount of drops per species size. e.g 60 drops = 1 teaspoon
What I do for example: If I was needing to give brown liquid mix as well as vitamin supplements to feline or toy dog or other small animals – we add this brown mix to a small bowl add some boiled water (about a teaspoon) to it so to dissolve the alcohol in it, let cool, then add what vitamins If needed (powder or crushed tab – a pinch) mixed in another 50ml of water, and oral syringe once a day or twice a day …smear on a little “Vegemite paste” (if cannot get Vegemite in your country, try fresh pate or slippery elm powder added can help mask the taste) around and on tip of oral syringe, as felines seem to real like the taste of this paste, but not too much as it is quite a strong taste)
Giving vitamins and supplements (tablets or powders)
Note: always crush tablet before adding to food or liquid mix. Felines or small animals: make up 1 cup of mixture, adding approx. a pinch of some type of Green powder and/or 1/4 Teaspoons of Slippery elm powder (to mask the taste) with 1 teaspoon of herbs if you are having to also give brown liquid. Med to large animals: add twice to three times the amount.
DOSING: Feline or small animal: using an oral syringe draw up 1ml and gently small sips. Or add a teaspoon to meals if they don’t mind eating it with meals (mix well into food) Do not put in Fridge. Room temp is best as too cold is dislike by felines.
DOSING: Canine, equine, cow, sheep, goat: try mixing well into food and hand piece before feeding main meals. Or dose same as suggested for felines, but add three times as much herbal medicines and vitamins to 1/2 cup of water or (unsweetened) apple sauce or apple juice.
