Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever (Rickettsia rickettsii) in dogs and humans.
Brown Dog tick (Ehrlichia Canis) in dogs.
Ehrlichiosis In Cats
The emended genus Ehrlichia includes – E. canis, E. chaffeensis, E. ewingii, E. muris, and E. ruminantium.
These ehrlichiae share various genetic, morphologic, clinical, and ecological features: all are at least 97.7% similar in 16S rRNA gene sequences, all reside and multiply in cytoplasmic vacuoles of host cells (the principal cell types include mononuclear and polymorphonuclear leukocytes and endothelial cells, depending on the particular species);
All causes health illness in animals, humans, or both; and all are transmitted by hard-tick vectors.
HOMEOPATHIC “ORAL NOSODES”
once it has been used on your pet it will also assist as future protection. AN123 Tick Oral Nosodes.
Note: Ehrlichiosis is a bacterial illness transmitted by ticks — its been found in Australian dogs for the first time in the Kimberley (2020)
Signs of infection include: fever, lethargy, enlarged lymph nodes, loss of appetite, weight loss and bleeding disorders. Reference: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-06-03/ehrlichiosis-detected-in-kimberley-dogs/12313052
Brown Dog Ticks Fever Ehrlichiosis (also known as Rickettsiosis – Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever – Rickettsia rickettsii) Canine Hemorrhagic Fever, Canine Typhus, Tracker dog and Tropical Canine Pancytopenia is a tick-borne disease of dogs usually caused by the organism Ehrlichia Canis if showing other acute symptoms refer to
AN240 HAMPL Tick Fever Bite formulas – which will help you know what to do immediately.
Ehrlichiosis in cats is a tick-borne disease that’s believed to be caused by bacteria.
If a cat catches it, the infection destroy the animal’s cells. While it’s not that common among the feline population, it gets increasingly more challenging to cure the longer it afflicts a cat.
Symptoms Of Ehrlichiosis In Cats
Ehrlichiosis in felines is believed to be a tick-born disease caused by one of several intracellular organisms known as rickettsial. Belonging to the genus, Ehrlichia, the primary causative agents to cause ehrlichiosis in cats are Ehrlichia risticii (E. risticii) and Ehrlichia canis (E. canis ). The organisms act like parasites, entering and infecting eukaryotic cells, eventually destroying the cell. Ehrlichiosis is present in geographical regions that support tick life including the United States, France, and warmer regions of the world.
Over 50 cases of ehrlichiosis in cats have been proven with accurate diagnoses completed through a PCR test capable of detecting the Ehrlichia polymerase chain reaction.
Ehrlichiosis in cats is a rare disease that is believed to be caused by the blood-feeding parasite, the tick. Ehrlichiosis disease is caused by rickettsial organisms that are microscopic in size and attack the various cells of the feline body. Rickettsial organisms act differently than bacterial or viral infections, as they enter the cell, destroying said cell from the inside.
The mass cell destruction causes clinical signs of swollen joints, pale gums and breathing difficulties in cats.
If the felines condition is not properly diagnosed and assisted, ehrlichiosis could progress to a life-threatening condition.
Felines with Ehrlichiosis have variable symptoms including dyspnea or coughing, edema of the limbs and reluctance to walk. The cat may develop a stiffness to her body, become depressed and anorexic, reluctant to eat. Clinical signs cat owner may note at home, which indicate an ehrlichiosis infection include:
... My cat Chloe came in from outside with a tick on her forehead I couldnt get the tick off she took off running for me so it was the next day before I got it off of her. Sometime after that she became very lethargic sleeping all the time her ears were bright red in the beginning and then she went completely pale her nose or ears very pale. She has seen four different vet they have done blood work twice and according to the blood work they said she had an infection of some sorts that she had had for a little while shes been on four different antibiotics I have been telling all of these vet that I believe it was from the tick but for some reason they dont seem to take it seriously. She is not any better today then she was 4 weeks ago. She is crippled in her back end and she has been like this for at least 3 weeks.
She still eats and drinks but I have to hold it food and water for her. Other than that she really doesnt try to move much at all she just stays put in her little box looking very very miserable. Im not sure if shes in pain or if she just feels really bad but she does not look well and she looks like shes just wasting away.
She started out on amoxicillin for one week because the first vet said she had a bad ear infections I took her back and told him she wasnt any better after that one week and he said she wasnt running a fever so shes just a lazy cat.
And I told him shes never been lazy cat but he just dismissed it as her being lazy cat and wouldnt do anything else for her. I took her to the second vet he did blood panel on her and the markers showed him that she had a bacterial infection of some sort and that it had been going on for a while. At that time he gave me the antibiotic Orbax.
He said to give it to her until it was gone that it was going to take a little while to clear the infection so I did. No improvement.
I took her to a third vet who finally agreed with me that it could be a tick-borne disease and she put her on doxycycline and prednisone. But mistaking the dropper in the medicine bottle to be the dose that they told me to give her thats all I was giving her and it wasnt helping so I took her to another vet who did a couple of x-rays and a fecal test and said this was just like a puzzle but theyre trying to find the pieces for to put it together in other words still no diagnosis. She was put on clindamycin and she has been on that for a week no improvement. During the switch from the doxycycline to the clindamycin
I decided to put a dropper full of a clindamycin into a syringe just to check and see if it was the right dosage and it was not. It was only half the amount that she was supposed to be getting. That is probably why it wasnt working for her because Im an idiot. Now here we are months later she cant walk Im assuming shes in pain by the way she does her body all the time. I have looked for anything that says clindamycin can assist any tick borne diseases and I cannot find anything on that so Im going to go on my own here and hope that Im doing the right thing for her and Im going to put her back on the doxycycline got the right dose this time and starter back on the prednisone and I really hope that Im doing the right thing for her.
If anyone has suggestions or Warnings or anything I need to know I would really appreciate that. If this doesnt work really fast I feel like I have no options but to let her go. Its not fair for her to continue to suffer while everybody tries to figure this thing out she has every symptoms. Actually win the whole thing started and she was going through the phases her symptoms line dried up with Lyme disease but they say the cats dont get Lyme disease in Oklahoma.
But they also say its because the chick that carries the disease is not in Oklahoma but I have a friend who is still trying to get over Lyme disease so that is constantly giving itself. Nevertheless doxycycline is the drug to use regardless and I would really appreciate any help and advice I could get.
You may not see a tick but if you do
A TICK REMOVAL Method.
Grasp the tick very close to your pets skin with a tick removal tool or a pair of tweezers. Carefully pull the ticks body away from the skin. Or buy a “Tick Stick” tool and have it on hand if ever needed. Once its off, flush it down the toilet. Once its off, flush it down the toilet. Then disinfect your dog or cats skin with Vitamin C powder (made into a paste or liquid by adding some water).
* If suspect a toxic tick, then vitamin c can remove toxins, discomfort, also give a teaspoon of vitamin c in some water ( about 1/4 cup or less) and oral syringe small sips till liquid is taken. (not all ticks have are toxic or have side effects)
Signs and Symptoms of Ehrlichiosis
The symptoms and severity of illness seen with Ehrlichiosis depend on the species of Ehrlichia involved and the immune response of the dog. Generally, Erlichia canis appears to produce the most severe illness, and infections tend to progress through various stages. The acute phase occurs within the first few weeks of being infected and is rarely fatal.
Recovery can occur, or the dog can enter a “subclinical phase,” which can last for years, where there are no symptoms. Some dogs eventually progress to the chronic phase, where very severe illness can develop. However, in practice, it is difficult to distinguish these phases.
Signs and symptoms of – Brown Dog Fever “ehrlichiosis” may include:
Signs of other organ involvement can appear in the chronic form, especially kidney disease. Note: Anaplasma platys causes recurrent low platelet counts but tends to produce only mild symptoms, if any.
Diagnosis of Ehrlichiosis
It can be difficult to confirm a diagnosis of Ehrlichiosis. Blood tests typically show a decreased number of platelets (“thrombocytopenia”) and sometimes decreased numbers of red blood cells (anemia) and/or white blood cells.
NATURAL PREVENTION USING HOMEOPATHIC ORAL NOSODES
(AN240) “Prophylactics are homeopathic” for Brown Dog Tick Fever (Ehrlichiosis) and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever (Rickettsia rickettsii – in dogs and humans), Babesia, Borrelia (Lyme) in all species. The Homeopathic formulas can be used as a “prophylactic” (prevention) or asistance for your Pets.
Hemotrophic Mycoplasmosis in a Dog
Parasitic Blood Infection (Haemobartonellosis)
* Use this Brown Dog Tick Natural Solution – AN234 Set as well as AN038-1 Anemia remedy
Two species of hemotrophic mycoplasmas have been identified in dogs—Mycoplasma haemocanis and Candidatus Mycoplasma haemoatoparvum. Most cases of hemotrophic mycoplasmosis are caused by M. haemocanis in dogs. The mycoplasma is a class of bacterial parasites belonging to the order of Mollicutes. They are able to survive without oxygen, and lack true cell walls, making them resistant to antibiotics and therefore a greater challenge to detect and assist. They are the most common cause of urinary tract infections and pneumonia.
Hemotrophic mycoplasmosis is the result of infection of the red blood cells by the mycoplasma parasite M. haemocanis transmitted to dogs by the Brown Dog Tick, Rhipicephalus sanguineus, or by contact with infected blood such as receiving a blood transfusion with infected blood. The mycoplasmas attach to the surface membrane of the red blood cells causing the blood cells to become fragile and damaged. This decreases the lifespan of the red blood cells and can lead to hemolysis and anemia.
Dogs usually will not show signs of illness or suffer from severe anemia (lack of red blood cells) with this kind of infection unless they have had their spleens removed (splenectomy). Since the purpose of the spleen is to filter and remove damaged red blood cells, the lack of this organ allows the mycoplasma to take a stronger hold in the system, and the body suffers systemically from the overload of damaged blood cells. Some dogs will exhibit weight loss, lethargy, decreased appetite, pale gums, jaundice, increased respiratory rate, and increased heart rate.
Infected dogs who have had their spleens removed can quickly develop a fatal anemia.
Symptoms and Types
When is its high season for the toxic type of ticks in Australia?
Larvae appear late Feb to April / May (not causing toxic damages)
Nymphs March to September / October (occasional mild toxins, opportunity to gain resistance in tick-infested areas).
The adult population emerges in August to February, peaking around December (Toxic season so search for ticks on your pets daily!)
Signs of Tick Toxicity:
Signs most commonly seen include – Vomiting and/or gagging or refusing food, a slight wobbliness of the hindquarters which worsens to paralysis and inability to stand, a change in the sound of bark or miaow, vomiting and / or gagging or refusing food, difficulty breathing (slow and laboured, often with a grunting noise on expiration).
* If your pet is showing ANY of these signs and you dont have a natural solutions for tick bite, it is IMPORTANT that your pet is assisted appropriately AS SOON AS POSSIBLE as unassisted animals may die. e.g. vitamin C oral dosing, Bach Flowers Rescue Remedy, see below information.
Contact our clinic to express post-solutions to you. If needing immediate support please seek a good vet who has dealt with tick bites. Sometimes you may find a tick or ticks on your pet and it is not showing any clinical signs. In such cases, you should remove all the ticks, keep your pet quiet and closely watch him/her for the next 24-36 hours as signs may still develop despite the removal of the ticks. If this happens, assistance is necessary. The toxin is not secreted in detectable amounts until 3 days of attachment.
Clinical signs of the animal being sick are often seen at day 3-4 with peak toxicity on days 5-6.
These 3 days gives us a chance to find and to remove ticks before they inject large amounts of toxin. Not every animal will become paralyzed or get really sick. Weight, age, and immune competence count smaller and younger animals such as puppies, kittens, foals, calves, lambs, and kids are more affected. Tick infested areas may continuously expose dogs so they develop immune resistance however it only lasts for a couple of months and not until the next season. However, infestation by adults can occur at any time of the year when conditions are suitable, even in mid-winter.
Many essential oils patted into fur can help deter – Flea, Tick, Mosquito Repellent.
Diatomaceous Earth a natural anti-bug powder can be put on pet and around the house, back yard etc.Diatomaceous Earth (often referred to as “DE”) is an off white talc-like powder that is the fossilized remains of marine phytoplankton. When sprinkled on a bug that has an exoskeleton (such as bed bugs, ants or fleas) it compromises their waxy coating so that their innards turn into teeny tiny bug jerky. But it doesnt hurt mammals. We can eat it. We do eat it! Its in lots of grain based foods because lots of grains are stored with diatomaceous earth to keep the bugs from eating the grain! E.g. Put under duck pen, in the yard for scorpions and spiders and various plants to keep off worms, aphids and all the millions of Florida bugs. It helps to keep fleas and ticks off your pets. Many uses for this!
An All Natural Homemade Pest Deterrent for Dogs (not for felines)
You can actually make an all-natural pest deterrent for your dog very easily at home. It will help him avoid a good percentage of the pests he encounters, though not all of them. The recipe: Mix 8 ounces of pure water with 4 ounces of organic, unfiltered apple cider vinegar and 10 drops of neem herb oil. Neem oil is not an essential oil. Its an expelled or pressed oil, and its safe for cats. Neem oil is effective because fleas and ticks hate it. Its also great for animals who are very sensitive to smells. Catnip oil can also be used as a pest deterrent since it has been proven to be as effective as diethyltoluamide (DEET), the mosquito and tick spray humans use that has a number of toxic side effects.
If you want to add some extra punch to your dogs pest recipe, go with five drops of lemon, lemongrass, eucalyptus or geranium oil. Dr Becker recommends using geranium oil being very effective. If you have a dog who comes in contact with ticks, adding the extra punch of one of the essential oils that were listed can be very beneficial. You can store your homemade pest deterrent in the fridge. Before my dogs head out in the morning, give them a mist with it, being careful to avoid their eyes. The active ingredients, especially the oils in the recipe, dissipate in about four hours, so you may need to reapply it several times throughout the day.
WARNING – Mainstream products for killing any Flea, Tick Control, Heartworm, Intestinal Wormers- that poison your pets blood, liver and kidneys – advertised and sold under the names of Frontline Plus, Advocate, Advantix, Revolution, Sentinel Spectrum, Advantage, Drontal, Capstar, Heartgard, Interceptor Spectrum, Bravecto.

For people that have lost their pet from using Bravecto (pesticide product)
Here are just some of the reviews of loss of pets to this poison product.
Please for your pets well-being, AVOID any type of chemical treatments – highly toxic insecticide poison bomb or sprays.
~ Tick and Flea Chemical-Free Alternative.
1. Using Diatomaceous Earth (DE) dry talc. An excellent choice for short term problem remediation and, longer term, keeping bugs at bay with regular reapplications. Dust pets bedding and areas where the pet sleeps, including carpets, loungers, and rugs. Topically, use sparingly and lightly working the product into the hair using a brush or comb. Paying attention strict attention to the areas that the animal cannot scratch such as the scalp. * Avoid face and nose, eyes and ear area.
2. Homeopathic HAMPL Tick Paralysis Oral Nosode 15ml or 30ml drops. Which you can stir in a dose to farm animal trough once a week. Stir in a dose every time you change your dogs water. Animals that do not drink water very often, place some drops in their food or on the body once a month.
3. Topical Tick Repellant: Insecticide poisons used for parasites in pet come in pet collars, cream, sprays, drops or drugs etc.
However, there is a safer non-toxic alternative way, using different types of herbs and aromatherapy oils (as anti-parasite repellents) in water and a spray bottle to spray on your pet each day when going outside for walks etc.
Tick saliva is “Neuro and Cardiotoxic” what means it has a deleterious effect on the heart and nervous system causing ascending paralyzes.
There is a concentration of saliva and presumably toxin in the granulomatous reaction around the tick mouth parts. It is thought by some experimenters that the residual toxin located in this granuloma is at least partially responsible for the increasing paralysis which occurs after the tick is removed.
USA – by comparison, the North American paralysis tick Dermacentor andersoni (found in the Rocky Mtns) does not produce a granuloma at the site of attachment, and in this case, the paralysis rapidly regresses after the tick is removed.
The Ixodes Holocyclus (paralysis tick) is found alone the coast line of Qld, NSW, and Victoria, and recently in northern Western Australia on cattle.
* if the infection is also causing inflammation of the brain – e.g. head nodding, seizures and other symptoms, if needed use in conjunction possibly Meningitis Support Set See: AN026 (B) or Babesia infection See: AN037 (B) Babesiosis Gibsoni – a babesia a parasitic infection.

Medicinal Herbal Actions
Cryptolepsis– bacterial, systemic infection (whole body)Systemic means affecting the whole body, or at least multiple organ systems. It is in contrast with topical or local)
Echinacea Angustifolia– a natural antibiotic, as well as antiviral, anti-fungal and disinfectant. Has the ability to boost the strength of t-lymphocytes. T-cells are vital to the immune system as they help the body to increase the number of antibodies that you have circulating. They work to fight off pathogenic invaders and viruss, as well as increasing the ability of the white blood cells to deal with any viruses or other micro-organisms that you may encounter. Very effective to strengthen immune system health and aid the immune system to fight the effects of colds and flu. This includes helping to assist sore throats, hay fever, coughs and upper respiratory infections such as bronchitis and sinusitis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacterial infection.
Goldenseal – Goldenseal has been shown in the research to be both antibiotic and antiviral. It is possible that berberine (a major component of goldenseal) also kills a wide range of other types of germs in test tubes, such as those that cause candida (yeast) infections and parasites such as tapeworms and Giardia. Berberine may also activate white blood cells, making them better at fighting infection and strengthening the immune system.
Pau d Arco – an antifungal known to assist Candida albicans, Candida tropicalis, and Cryptococcus neoformans, that was similar to Amphotericin B. The presumed antifungal activity of lapachol is believed to be due to its interaction with the cellular membrane.
Blue Flag – herb has numerous medicinal properties. It is not only helpful in aiding the purifying of the blood through the liver, and to increase bile production, but it also helps our spleen and the glands in our lymphatic system. It has high detoxifying properties and is mainly used to remove the toxic substances in the body.
Andrographis – herb Andrographolides are believed to have immune-stimulating, liver-protective and anti-inflammatory. The flu epidemic of 1919 was one of the most devastating infectious outbreaks in world history, killing millions worldwide. But, in India, the astonishing prophylactic effects of andrographis paniculata was credited with stopping the deadly virus.
Usnea herb – usnea aids the immune system when used in a tonic. This herb is specific for strep throat and staph infections. It has antibiotic qualities that help the respiratory and urinary systems. It makes a good choice to assist sinus infections, bronchitis, pneumonia, colds, and flu, kidney and bladder infections. It has also been used successfully for yeast infections, vaginosis, trichonomosas and Chlamydia. It can help those suffering from chronic fatigue, herpes, HIV and other conditions with a depressed immune system. The herb is antibacterial and antifungal. In Chinese medicine, it is part of herbal cancer therapy, especially for cancer of the thyroid.
Coptis– Coptis chinensis contains several compounds thought to enhance health, including berberine (a chemical found to possess antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory properties). Coptis is also very effective for skin presenting with boils, carbuncles, suppurative sores or localized infections. Used for Amoebic or bacterial dysentery, giardia, travelers diarrhea, food poisoning, gastroenteritis, Helicobacter pylori infection, ulcerative colitis, cholecystitis, urinary tract infection, gout, lymphangitis, pyogenic staphylococcus aureus skin infections, conjunctivitis, otitis media (middle ear infection), sinusitis, tonsilitis, strep throat, stomatitis, gingivitis and more.
General Dosing and Instructions Guide
For all species, size, and ages.
(a) “HOMEOPATHICS”are sold in either a clear liquid or tiny white pills or granules – both have no odour or taste)
Easy “application dosing” for all species:
Refer to Bottle Label for suggested frequencies repeat dosing needed per day.
the rule is one must “repeat a dose” more frequently with less time in between each application dose, which is more important than the amount given each time. Repeat application will provide
(b) “HERBAL MEDICINES ” (brown liquid – strong odour & tasting)
”Application dosing” for all species and sizes:
Canine, equine, cow, sheep, goat : add herbal drops (as recommended on bottle label) to some (unsweetened apple sauce or apple juice) for canines and oral syringe side of mouth. Can add other vitamins (crushed) Alkaline green powders etc. to mix.
Refer to Bottle Label for amount of drops per species size. e.g 60 drops = 1 teaspoon
What I do for example: If I was needing to give herb solutions and/or vitamin supplements to feline or toy dog or other small animals – I add this herbal formula to a small bowl add some boiled water (about a teaspoon) to it so to dissolve the alcohol in it, let cool, then add what vitamins If needed (powder or crushed tab – a pinch) mixed in another 50ml of water, and oral syringe once a day or twice a day …smear on a little “vegemite paste” (if cannot get Vegemite in your country, try fresh pate or slippery elm powder added can help mask the taste) around and on tip of oral syringe, as felines seem to real like the taste of this paste, but not too much as it is quite a strong taste)
Giving vitamins and supplements (tablets or powders) Note: always crush tablet before adding to food or liquid mix.
Felines or small animals: make up 1 cup of mixture, adding approx. a pinch of some type of Green powder (alkaline powder) or Chlorella powder (cleansing of toxins) or 1/4 Teaspoons of Slippery elm powder (to mask the taste) with 1 teaspoon of herbs if you are having to also give herbal medicines (i.e. brown liquid)
Med to large animals: add twice to three times the amount.
DOSING: Feline or small animal: using an oral syringe draw up 1ml and gently small sips. Or add a teaspoon to meals if they don’t mind eating it with meals (mix well into food) Do not put in Fridge. Room temp is best as too cold is dislike by felines.
DOSING: Canine, equine, cow, sheep, goat: try mixing well into food and hand piece before feeding main meals. Or dose same as suggested for felines, but add three times as much herbal medicines and vitamins to 1/2 cup of water or (unsweetened) apple sauce or apple juice.
What I do for example: If i was needing to give herbal solutions and/or vitamin supplements to feline or toy dog or other small animals – I add this herbal formula to 1/2 cup of boiled hot water to it so to dissolve the alcohol in it, let cool, then add what vitamins If needed (powder or crushed tab – a pinch) mixed in another 50ml of water, and oral syringe once a day or twice a day …. smear on a little “vegemite paste” (if cannot get Vegemite in your country, try fresh pate or slippery elm powder added can help mask the taste) around and on tip of oral syringe, as felines seem to real like the taste of this paste, but not too much as it is quite a strong taste)
Slippery Elm Powder
If needing to add or use Slippery Elm powder
FOR CONDITIONS like …. diarrhea, stomach ulcers, or sore inflamed mouth or mouth ulcers, constipation, or IBS (i.e. colitis), plus it can also been given as a liquid meal given orally via syringe as it is highly nutritional (oral liquid feeding) for convalescing during illness when not eating solids.
CONVALESCING ..can been given as a liquid meal given orally via syringe as it is highly nutritional (oral liquid feeding) for convalescing during illness when not eating solids or not eating very well.
~ Add a small amount of powder to the mix to enough to make a runny liquid mix, if you put too much of the powder it will become thick and gluggy, if this happens you will need to add more liquid to it. Can add crushed vitamins and herbal medicines to this as well. OPTIONS: Oral dose in syringe or add to meals three times a day or more to maintain normal health again, then can stop or reduce frequencies.
