HEARTWORM "POSITIVE" in your Canine.
HERBAL HEARTWORM - TREATMENT: a dose (according to size and age of pet .. e.g 10 drops for a small dog) is given twice daily in a small amount of food (hand feeds it) for 6 weeks to kill the worm. Antigen will remain in the system for 4 to 5 months after the death of worm, so continue dosing for a few more months. All ages and stages. Re-test to see desired results around three months time.
OR / AND
apply a 2- 4 drops on the body, (e.g top of head to reach the skin). Repeat twice a day for three months.
For Pregnant or Nursing female dogs this herbal formula might be okay in very small doses, which is what we prescribe already. However, the BWH is contraindicated in human pregnancy (can be a uterine stimulant). Too astringic for puppies. So our Herbalist would prescribe the homeopathic formula HAMPL HeartWorm 293 100ml.
The herbal or homeopathic formula treatment - is best used in conjunction with Bromelain Capsules (open the capsule and use the powder). Bromelain is an enzyme extracted from pineapples. It helps break down the dead worms. Bromelain is available at many health stores and the recommended starting dose is 30 mg per lb of body weight, divided into two or three daily doses and given two hours away from meals.

Clinical Vet Research & Studies
Dr.Roxanna V.Knight DVM who runs a non-profit dog rescues clinic also treats many of her dogs who may have tested Heartworm positive with HAMPL HeartWorm herbal formula, rather than the using the painful injections of arsenic.
Roxanna has clinically proved that the Herbal treatment has been proven a great success!
She said she did multiple antigen tests throughout the 19 weeks in order to watch what was transpiring. We also collected blood from microfilaria numbers during treatment. From antigen level changes we predicted that the adults (worms) died after 6 weeks of twice daily BWH herbal liquid tincture. Retrospectively, when the test is perfectly clear, i.e. negative, we can confirm. (antigen will remain in the system for 4 -5 months post death of worm. Dogs have had no cardiovascular symptoms from the worms dying off while on the herbal heartworm treatment. We are happy! And all dogs are doing GREAT! Dr. Roxanne knight. USA
Heartworm in "Felines" is very very rare.
Dogs are also tested for microfilaria to confirm a heartworm diagnosis. Microfilariae are the offspring of adult heartworms born inside a dog's body. The test is useless for cats for a few different reasons: there are too few adult worms to produce offspring, or all the adults are the same sex (this is common in feline heartworm infections), or the immune system kills off the microfilariae very quickly. So there's nothing to be gained by doing microfilaria tests on cats. Tests for the presence of heartworm antibodies are only partially helpful in cats. A positive test can mean a number of things. There could be a mature infection. There could be an immature worm present. Or there could be a past infection that is being cleared. If you wish to use the homeopathic HAMPL Heartworm 293 100ml drops this is fine.
Tips for Protection
Dr. Pat Coleby DVM and Dr. Klenner found if dogs received a PABA tablet (crushed) and a teaspoon of pure sodium ascorbate powder to meals twice a week they do not contract heartworm; if a pet has contracted Heartworm, the dose must be given daily, and it will get rid of the worm(s) in six weeks. This is much safer than the danger attendant on chemical heartworm drugs, which holistic vets do not like using for this reason. How can you reduce the risk of a rare heartworm infection in your own kitty? First, keep his immune system strong and healthy. Parasitic infections are less likely in strong, resilient animals.

Cats, as mentioned earlier, are not the natural hosts of heartworms - dogs are
Canine angiostrongylosis is caused by the nematode, Angiostrongylus vasorum. The parasite, first described in France in the 19th Century , is commonly known as “canine lungworm” or “French heartworm”. Adult A. vasorum reside in the right heart and pulmonary arterial tree of dogs and other canids.

GUIDE - After two months, ask your vet to run an occult heartworm test every 3 months to monitor your dog’s progress. Dr Khalsa says .. It may take several months for testing to show as negative but Dr. Khalsa say she has had great success with it.
For all species, size, and ages.
(a) “HOMEOPATHICS”are sold in either a clear liquid or tiny white pills or granules – both have no odour or taste) Easy “application dosing” for all species:
Refer to Bottle Label for suggested frequencies repeat dosing needed per day.
NOTE: the rule is one must “repeat a dose” more frequently with less time in between each application dose, which is more important than the amount given each time. Repeat application will provide faster action.
(b) “HERBAL MEDICINES ” (brown liquid – strong odour & tasting) ”Application dosing” for all species and sizes: Canine, equine, cow, sheep, goat : add herbal drops (as recommended on bottle label) to some (unsweetened apple sauce or apple juice) for canines and oral syringe side of mouth. Can add other vitamins (crushed) Alkaline green powders etc. to mix.
Refer to Bottle Label for amount of drops per species size. e.g 60 drops = 1 teaspoon
What I do for example: If I was needing to give herb treatments and/or vitamin supplements to feline or toy dog or other small animals – I add this herbal formula to a small bowl add some boiled water (about a teaspoon) to it so to dissolve the alcohol in it, let cool, then add what vitamins If needed (powder or crushed tab – a pinch) mixed in another 50ml of water, and oral syringe once a day or twice a day …smear on a little “vegemite paste” (if cannot get Vegemite in your country, try fresh pate or slippery elm powder added can help mask the taste) around and on tip of oral syringe, as felines seem to real like the taste of this paste, but not too much as it is quite a strong taste)
(c)“NUTRITIONAL Mix ” Giving vitamins and supplements (tablets or powders) Note: always crush tablet before adding to food or liquid mix. Felines or small animals: make up 1 cup of mixture, adding approx. a pinch of some type of Green powder (alkaline powder) or Chlorella powder (cleansing of toxins) or 1/4 Teaspoons of Slippery elm powder (to mask the taste) with 1 teaspoon of herbs if you are having to also give herbal medicines (i.e. brown liquid) Med to large animals: add twice to three times the amount.
DOSING: Feline or small animal: using an oral syringe draw up 1ml and gently small sips. Or add a teaspoon to meals if they don’t mind eating it with meals (mix well into food) Do not put in Fridge. Room temp is best as too cold is dislike by felines.
DOSING: Canine, equine, cow, sheep, goat: try mixing well into food and hand piece before feeding main meals. Or dose same as suggested for felines, but add three times as much herbal medicines and vitamins to 1/2 cup of water or (unsweetened) apple sauce or apple juice.

Slippery Elm Powder If needing to add or use Slippery Elm powder
FOR CONDITIONS like …. diarrhea, stomach ulcers, or sore inflamed mouth or mouth ulcers, constipation, or IBS (i.e. colitis), plus it can also been given as a liquid meal given orally via syringe as it is highly nutritional (oral liquid feeding) for convalescing during illness when not eating solids.
CONVALESCING ..can been given as a liquid meal given orally via syringe as it is highly nutritional (oral liquid feeding) for convalescing during illness when not eating solids or not eating very well. ~ Add a small amount of powder to the mix to enough to make a runny liquid mix, if you put too much of the powder it will become thick and gluggy, if this happens you will need to add more liquid to it. Can add crushed vitamins and herbal medicines to this as well. OPTIONS: Oral dose in syringe or add to meals three times a day or more to maintain normal health again, then can stop or reduce frequencies.
