Help Sheet

  • Eosinophilic Granuloma Complex in a Feline

The term eosinophilic granuloma complex (EGC) refers to a group of inflammatory skin problems in cats. The skin lesions are often highly pruritic (itchy) and can be exacerbated by the cat licking them.

    Eosinophilic Granuloma Complex in Horses

In horses, the disease also has been termed equine eosinophilic granuloma with collagen degeneration, nodular necrobiosis of collagen, and collagenolytic granuloma. The lesions are nodular, nonulcerative, and nonpruritic. They often are found in the saddle, central truncal, and lateral cervical areas and may have a gray-white central core. Older lesions may become mineralized. Both insect bites and trauma have been suggested as causes, although the occasional onset during winter in cold climates and in noncontact saddle or tack areas suggests multifactorial causes. Histology reveals multifocal areas of collagen fibers surrounded by granulomatous inflammation containing eosinophils.    *  Thus, histologically, this lesion is similar to eosinophilic granuloma of cats and dogs.

Indolent ulcers (rodent ulcers) in Felines

Indolent ulcers are considered to be part of a larger disease group called feline eosinophilic granuloma complex. The term "eosinophilic granuloma complex" refers to (3) three types of lesions that look quite different but are actually very similar from a physiological point of view: Eosinophilic granuloma (also called a linear granuloma) typically develops as a long, narrow lesion running down the back of the thigh, or a lump on the lower lip or chin. Sometimes the footpads are involved. The skin is usually pink or tinged yellow, raised and bumpy, and hairless.

    Skin Lesions

The term eosinophilic granuloma complex (EGC) refers to a group of inflammatory skin problems in cats.
The skin lesions are often highly pruritic (itchy) and can be exacerbated by the cat licking them.

This term refers to a group of skin diseases of cats that includes not only the rodent ulcers but also lesions called :
~ Eosinophilic plaques (usually found on the abdomen and thighs typically affect the skin of the abdomen, inner thigh, throat, or around the anus. The areas are raised, pink or red, and appear "raw".)
~ Eosinophilic granulomas (linear lesions on the caudal thighs, face, tongue and palate, and including swollen lower lips and chin). Although the mouth is the most common site for the development of eosinophilic granulomas, they sometimes occur in other locations.
~ Indolent ulcers  (also called Rodent ulcers) affect a cat's upper lip and sometimes the tongue.  These lesions usually look like pink, eroded sores Eosinophilic granulomas usually occur as ulcers, sores, blisters on the lips of the mouth. The central or rear portions of the upper lip are most frequently affected. The sores may be covered with scabs, or they bleed or emit an unpleasant odor. Rarely, sores may develop elsewhere on the body. Inflammation (pain) is not an infection but is a process in which the body's white blood cells protect against bacterial and viral infections.

Hypereosinophilic syndrome and eosinophilic granuloma complex involve

the over-proliferation of eosinophils - however, the hypereosinophilic syndrome is the more serious of the two, because the eosinophils infiltrate vital organs and cause multiple issues. This condition won't go away unless the immune system is restored.  e.g. Lots of Vitamin C powder diluted in milk drinks and soft food - twice to three times a day and avoid any toxic drugs and excessive stress.
As the ulcer is secondary to the immune disorder. We have to correct both. To do this may take months, with the use of the herbal formula we provide.  However, as long as a kitty can eat okay whilst correcting the immune system that is the most important thing.   Experienced health practitioners believe this condition can be set off after a vaccination injection, especially from causing severe depletion vitamin C. Any type of whole food vitamin C powder (from capsule) can be used long term. Initially, you could use the synthetic vitamin c - sodium ascorbate powder, this can be diluted or dissolve in some filtered water and added to meals.
Symptoms  -  The syndrome is painful. Severe eosinophilic granulomas can become infected or can be disfiguring.
Signs of pain:  may occur in cats that suffer from eosinophilic granulomas.   Hiding, aggression, and other behavior changes may occur. Cats with eosinophilic granulomas may exhibit decreased appetite (loss of weight) due to pain associated with eating.

  • General Dosing and Instructions
Guide

For all species, size, and ages.

    HOMEOPATHIC MEDICINES

    (a) “HOMEOPATHICS”are sold in either a clear liquid or tiny white pills or granules – both have no odour or taste)

Easy “application dosing” for all species:

    • Homeopathic DROPS (clear liquid) DRIP or APPLY 3 to 4 drops, pat into fur/skin with bottom of bottle. i.e. back of shoulder blades (not orally) which is regarded as one dose for all size species and ages. Note: Liquid homeopathics are more suited for feline, toy dog, fish, birds and other small species
    • Homeopathic PILLS (white pills) crush a pill (or whole) and add to gum/pouch of mouth to dissolve in saliva. Does not need to swallow it.
    • Homeopathic GRANULES (white grain) and a small light sprinkle or a pinch to meals, or stir into water trough or bowl.
Casual repeat dosing can add to water bowl or feed dish or water trough for wildlife or farm animals.

Refer to Bottle Label for suggested frequencies repeat dosing needed per day.
    NOTE:
the rule is one must “repeat a dose” more frequently with less time in between each application dose, which is more important than the amount given each time. Repeat application will provide

faster action.

    HERBAL MEDICINES

    (b) “HERBAL MEDICINES ” (brown liquid – strong odour & tasting)
”Application dosing” for all species and sizes:
Canine, equine, cow, sheep, goat : add herbal drops (as recommended on bottle label) to some (unsweetened apple sauce or apple juice) for canines and oral syringe side of mouth. Can add other vitamins (crushed) Alkaline green powders etc. to mix.

Refer to Bottle Label for amount of drops per species size. e.g 60 drops = 1 teaspoon

What I do for example: If I was needing to give herb treatments and/or vitamin supplements to feline or toy dog or other small animals – I add this herbal formula to a small bowl add some boiled water (about a teaspoon) to it so to dissolve the alcohol in it, let cool, then add what vitamins If needed (powder or crushed tab – a pinch) mixed in another 50ml of water, and oral syringe once a day or twice a day …smear on a little “vegemite paste” (if cannot get Vegemite in your country, try fresh pate or slippery elm powder added can help mask the taste) around and on tip of oral syringe, as felines seem to real like the taste of this paste, but not too much as it is quite a strong taste)

    NUTRITION

    (c)“NUTRITIONAL Mix
”
Giving vitamins and supplements (tablets or powders) Note: always crush tablet before adding to food or liquid mix.
Felines or small animals: make up 1 cup of mixture, adding approx. a pinch of some type of Green powder (alkaline powder) or Chlorella powder (cleansing of toxins) or 1/4 Teaspoons of Slippery elm powder (to mask the taste) with 1 teaspoon of herbs if you are having to also give herbal medicines (i.e. brown liquid)
Med to large animals: add twice to three times the amount.

DOSING: Feline or small animal: using an oral syringe draw up 1ml and gently small sips. Or add a teaspoon to meals if they don’t mind eating it with meals (mix well into food) Do not put in Fridge. Room temp is best as too cold is dislike by felines.
DOSING: Canine, equine, cow, sheep, goat: try mixing well into food and hand piece before feeding main meals. Or dose same as suggested for felines, but add three times as much herbal medicines and vitamins to 1/2 cup of water or (unsweetened) apple sauce or apple juice.

What I do for example: If i was needing to give herb treatments and/or vitamin supplements to feline or toy dog or other small animals – I add this herbal formula to 1/2 cup of boiled hot water to it so to dissolve the alcohol in it, let cool, then add what vitamins If needed (powder or crushed tab – a pinch) mixed in another 50ml of water, and oral syringe once a day or twice a day …. smear on a little “vegemite paste” (if cannot get Vegemite in your country, try fresh pate or slippery elm powder added can help mask the taste) around and on tip of oral syringe, as felines seem to real like the taste of this paste, but not too much as it is quite a strong taste)

    Slippery Elm Powder

If needing to add or use Slippery Elm powder

FOR CONDITIONS like …. diarrhea, stomach ulcers, or sore inflamed mouth or mouth ulcers, constipation, or IBS (i.e. colitis), plus it can also been given as a liquid meal given orally via syringe as it is highly nutritional (oral liquid feeding) for convalescing during illness when not eating solids.

CONVALESCING ..can been given as a liquid meal given orally via syringe as it is highly nutritional (oral liquid feeding) for convalescing during illness when not eating solids or not eating very well.
~ Add a small amount of powder to the mix to enough to make a runny liquid mix, if you put too much of the powder it will become thick and gluggy, if this happens you will need to add more liquid to it. Can add crushed vitamins and herbal medicines to this as well. OPTIONS: Oral dose in syringe or add to meals three times a day or more to maintain normal health again, then can stop or reduce frequencies.

My cat was diagnosed with Eosinophilic granuloma.

My cat was diagnosed with Eosinophilic granuloma. My Vet gave me a cortisone/ antibiotic cream to treat it. At first it looked like it was getting better but than another ulcer would form. I was getting frustrated, so I looked on the internet for healthier and safer alternative. Thank GOD I found this website. After I started to use the whole system of Rodent Ulcer - Esinophilic ulcer, Indolent ulcer (cats lips), I started to noticed a difference. It opened up and bursted. Then It took approximately 5 days to notice a big difference. I started using the herbs straight away to help her immune system. I knew that she was on a good track. My cat had the ulcers on the back between her shoulder blades for about 2-3 weeks without getting better and I did not want my cat to go back to the Vet to give her an **** cortisone medicine because she would not respond to the cream. I am from Canada- Toronto and I do not regret to spend the money on this product at all!!! It is a fantastic product that actually works, and I am so thankful that it helped my cat. She is only 3 years old and I want her to be around for many many more years. Please give it a try and you will never regret it! Lastly, whenever I needed help or had a question related to the product, I had an answer so fast I could not believe it. These group of people care about the animals and their well being. It is not just a business for them. With holistic medicine, one has to have a patience, because healing does not happen over night. The whatever disease that your pet is having is not a result from over night, it has been accumulating for while, so it does take a time for the body to respond to the medicine and start healing itself from the core out. Thank you again for giving my cat her health back. Miroslava ( Canada- Toronto)

Princess is nearly 20 and nearly 10 years ago she developed rodent ulcers which the vet used steroids to treat.

Princess is nearly 20 and nearly 10 years ago she developed rodent ulcers which the vet used steroids to treat. But they kept coming back more and more frequently. After a couple to three years I finally switched to gluten free cat food and the ulcers pretty much cleared up except for some itchiness, for 18 months. Then the condition came back, badly. At that point i put her on an all raw diet, (grassfed, organic equivalent meat and greens she got outside). That worked well for 5 years, and then she was back to hobbling, stumbling, got mouth ulcers again, and we expected to find her curled up in a corner, gone, any time. I was ready to take her in and put her out of her misery when I found you online. The remedies worked right away in just a few weeks she was obviously much better. I have continued the treatment this whole past year, and she is still old and doesn't do as much as when she was young, sleeps a lot, etc., but she can live comfortably again, jump off my lap, navigate stairs again, and enjoys going outside with me sometimes. Clearly she is much much better although sometimes still itchy. I also deworm her from time to time because every few days she gets a feeder mouse which I prepare for her for added nutrition. I see you have added the Immune product to the set and I am interested to see what it will do for her. Thanks so much for your presence online so my cat can have a comfortable old age and we can enjoy her presence in our family.

    Seems to be working

Seems to be working, noticing some shrinkage - the homeopathic drops HAMPL rodent clear & chemical detox are very easy to work with, a little harder to get the herbal immune drops in her meals...

WOW! After a very long battle my poor kitty is finally better!

WOW! After a very long battle my poor kitty is finally better! I started to think it would never happen. She has rodent ulcers on both upper lips, a blister on her tongue, frequent eye and ear infections, a swollen chin, and the vet I was taking her to had no idea what to do. Other then to give her excessive amounts of steroids and antibiotics, which wouldn't work. The vet could never really tell me what was wrong, because she didn't know / care. After doing some researching myself, I have finally found a treatment that works. Im more then happy with these products and will continue to recommend them to everyone. Thank you!!!
