AN075 Tick Bite Homeopathic Kit - for acute paralysis, respiratory, bladder issues. Use for perennial rye grass toxicosis. For ALL SPECIES.
~ Perennial Rye Grass Toxicosis.
This remedy is also used for farm animals who have got Perennial ryegrass toxicosis. (can also use as a prevention in farm water trough, stir in a dose once a week for all to share). Assisting an animal (of any size or species) put drops on the body or water trough, if you can touch the animal mix a tablespoon of vitamin c crystals in warm water (say half a cup) add the paralysis remedy and if you have it add the Rescue remedy as well. Shake and then oral syringe at least 10ml. Repeat frequently to get fast results. E.g. if given every 15 mins of say three repeat sessions, you will see a huge difference after the second or third repeat. Continue dosing if needed, less frequently if the animal is still not up and moving fully. In some cases, if the animal is dehydrated, or advanced weakness give Sub Q fluids or IV drip to hydrate, can hook up two bags at the same time if need be for faster results.
~ Tick Bite (we are talking about ticks that have a toxic bite, not all ticks are toxic)
When is its high season for the toxic type of ticks in the Eastern States of Australia?
Fortunately, we don't have that tick or its disease in Western Australia. Larvae appear late Feb to April / May (not causing toxic damages) Nymphs March to September / October(occasional mild toxins, opportunity to gain resistance in tick-infested areas). The adult population emerges in August to February, peaking around December (Toxic season so search for ticks on your pets daily!)
Grasp the tick very close to your pet's skin with a tick removal tool or a pair of tweezers. Carefully pull the tick's body away from the skin. Or buy a "Tick Stick" tool and have it on hand if ever needed. Once it's off, flush it down the toilet. Once it's off, flush it down the toilet. Then disinfect your dog or cat's skin with Vitamin C powder (made into a paste or liquid by adding some water). * If suspect a toxic tick, then vitamin c can remove toxins, discomfort, also give a teaspoon of vitamin c in some water ( about 1/4 cup or less) and oral syringe small sips till liquid is taken. (not all ticks have are toxic or have side effects)
Signs of Tick Toxicity:
Signs most commonly seen include - Vomiting and/or gagging or refusing food, a slight wobbliness of the hindquarters which worsens to paralysis and inability to stand, a change in the sound of bark or miaow, vomiting and / or gagging or refusing food, difficulty breathing (slow and laboured, often with a grunting noise on expiration).
* If your pet is showing ANY of these signs and you don't have a natural treatment for tick bite, it is IMPORTANT that your pet is treated appropriately AS SOON AS POSSIBLE as untreated animals may die.
e.g. vitamin C oral dosing, bach flowers rescue remedy shock), see below information.
Contact our clinic to express post-treatment to you. If needing immediate support please seek a good vet who has dealt with tick bites. Sometimes you may find a tick or ticks on your pet and it is not showing any clinical signs. In such cases, you should remove all the ticks, keep your pet quiet and closely watch him/her for the next 24-36 hours as signs may still develop despite the removal of the ticks. If this happens, treatment is necessary. The toxin is not secreted in detectable amounts until 3 days of attachment.
Clinical signs of the animal being sick are often seen at day 3-4 with peak toxicity on days 5-6.
These 3 days gives us a chance to find and to remove ticks before they inject large amounts of toxin. Not every animal will become paralyzed or get really sick. Weight, age, and immune competence count smaller and younger animals such as puppies, kittens, foals, calves, lambs, and kids are more affected. Tick infested areas may continuously expose dogs so they develop immune resistance however it only lasts for a couple of months and not until the next season. However, infestation by adults can occur at any time of the year when conditions are suitable, even in mid-winter.
If You live in the Eastern States of Australia and have found a tick, or your pet is acting strange wobbly legs etc possible "Toxic Tick Bite Illness" * not all ticks are toxic, there are over 800 ticks that are harmless.
What to do right now?
While you wait for the homeopathic remedies to arrive here is what you need to do if you cannot get to a vet straight away as well as while your pet is in the Vet clinic.
1. Shock -Very Important to use the Bach Flowers "Rescue Remedy" drops - for the shock. (as shock can kill). by applying 3 to 4 drops on the body ( e.g. back of shoulders or top of the head or on paws, gum of mouth) as one dose. The Bach Flowers "Rescue Remedy" drops can be bought from health food stores and some chemists (drugstores). Put three to four drops on top of head OR gum - mouth or paws where the skin is. Repeat every 3 to 5 minutes. Usually, by the third or four repeat application, improvement is seen. Then continue every hour or so 6 times a day until your tick remedies arrive.
2. Vitamin C - giving it orally. Use Vitamin C (sodium ascorbate powder from health food stores) dissolve in water and given "orally" - side of mouth using an oral syringe. If unable to swallow ask the Vet to give injectable Vitamin C (bottle of ascorbic acid) from stock feeders. (must inject slowly though as painful).
Example: Med size dog - mix approx. 3 to 5 teaspoons of vitamin C powder in a cup of warm water. then oral syringe small amounts until 5 - 10ml is taken, repeat, every 15 minutes for 4 hours. Then can reduce to repeating four times a day - spread out. OR if you have Liposomal Vitamin C then this is even better. 2 capsules or 1 satchel = 1,000mg. Make up 4,000mg of vitamin C in half a cup of water stir well, then oral syringe - 1ml for small pets every 15 minutes, or 2ml - 5ml for larger animals. Do at least 10 repeats.
3. IMPORTANT: double check that there are no other ticks on the body, as relapse can occur the following day. When more than one tick is present on the dog and a search fails to locate the second or third tick - the dog will initially improve and then deteriorate, the toxin is still being produced and injected by the remaining tick/s. The main cause of death in severe cases is primary hypoventilation. The toxin also causes myocardial depression and diastolic failure which leads to cardiogenic pulmonary edema and signs of Congestive heart failure. (AN075-3) drops
Therefore HAMPL Resp-Odema Heart formula is very important to use for as many days until the pet is back to normal health.
Many essential oils patted into fur can help deter - Flea, Tick, Mosquito Repellent.
Diatomaceous Earth a natural anti-bug powder can be put on pet and around the house, backyard etc.Diatomaceous Earth (often referred to as "DE") is an off white talc-like powder that is the fossilized remains of marine phytoplankton. When sprinkled on a bug that has an exoskeleton (such as bed bugs, ants or fleas) it compromises their waxy coating so that their innards turn into teeny tiny bug jerky. But it doesn't hurt mammals. We can eat it. We do eat it! It's in lots of grain-based foods because lots of grains are stored with diatomaceous earth to keep the bugs from eating the grain! E.g. Put under duck pen, in the yard for scorpions and spiders and various plants to keep off worms, aphids and all the millions of Florida bugs. It helps to keep fleas and ticks off your pets. Many uses for this!
You can actually make an all-natural pest deterrent for your dog very easily at home. It will help him avoid a good percentage of the pests he encounters, though not all of them. The recipe: Mix 8 ounces of pure water with 4 ounces of organic, unfiltered apple cider vinegar and 10 drops of neem herb oil. Neem oil is not an essential oil. It's an expelled or pressed oil, and it's safe for cats. Neem oil is effective because fleas and ticks hate it. It's also great for animals who are very sensitive to smells. Catnip oil can also be used as a pest deterrent since it has been proven to be as effective as diethyltoluamide (DEET), the mosquito and tick spray humans use that has a number of toxic side effects.
If you want to add some extra punch to your dog's pest recipe, go with five drops of lemon, lemongrass, eucalyptus or geranium oil. Dr. Becker recommends using geranium oil being very effective. If you have a dog who comes in contact with ticks, adding the extra punch of one of the essential oils that were listed can be very beneficial. You can store your homemade pest deterrent in the fridge. Before my dogs head out in the morning, give them a mist with it, being careful to avoid their eyes. The active ingredients, especially the oils in the recipe, dissipate in about four hours, so you may need to reapply it several times throughout the day.
Dr. Becker's recipe for cats is very similar to the one for dogs.
The recipe: Mix 8 ounces of pure water with 4 ounces of organic, unfiltered apple cider vinegar, plus 10 drops of neem oil and 10 drops of catnip oil. Cats and essential oils can be tricky, so we want to leave essential oils out of the kitty recipe. Neither neem nor catnip oil is truly essential oils — they're distillates, so we're safe using those. Catnip oil works to deter mosquitoes as well. Cats aren't prone to heartworm, which is a mosquito-borne disease, but dogs are. So those are two easy, all-natural recipes you can use to deter pests and as a bonus, they also make your dog or cat smell wonderful! You can use them during flea season, tick season and all summer long, and feel good that you're not using pesticides on your pet.

~ Tick and Flea Chemical-Free Alternative.
1. Using Diatomaceous Earth (DE) dry talc. An excellent choice for short term problem remediation and, longer term, keeping bugs at bay with regular reapplications. Dust pets bedding and areas where the pet sleeps, including carpets, loungers, and rugs. Topically, use sparingly and lightly working the product into the hair using a brush or comb. Paying attention strict attention to the areas that the animal cannot scatch such as the scalp. * Avoid face and nose, eyes and ear area.
2. Homeopathic HAMPL Tick Paralysis Oral Nosode 15ml or 30ml drops. Which you can stir in a dose to farm animal trough once a week. Stir in a dose every time you change your dog's water. Animals that do not drink water very often, place some drops in their food or on the body once a month.
3. Topical Tick Repellant: Insecticide poisons used for parasites in pet come in pet collars, cream, sprays, drops or drugs etc. However, there is a safer non-toxic alternative way, using different types of herbs and aromatherapy oils (as an anti-parasite repellant) in water and a spray bottle to spray on your pet each day when going outside for walks etc.
Tick saliva is "Neuro and Cardiotoxic" what means it has a deleterious effect on the heart and nervous system causing ascending paralyzes. There is a concentration of saliva and presumably toxin in the granulomatous reaction around the tick mouthparts. It is thought by some experimenters that the residual toxin located in this granuloma is at least partially responsible for the increasing paralysis which occurs after the tick is removed.
The USA - by comparison, the North American paralysis tick Dermacentor andersoni (found in the Rocky Mtns) does not produce a granuloma at the site of attachment, and in this case, the paralysis rapidly regresses after the tick is removed. The Ixodes holocyclus (paralysis tick) is found along the coastline of Qld, NSW, and Victoria, and recently in northern Western Australia on cattle.
Are commercial flea and tick treatment are safe?
All spot-on treatments, sprays, and collars are hard pesticides and pose some degree of health risk to animals. Humans who closely interact with treated dogs/cats (especially children) can be affected by the toxins. Just remember on the packaging to wear gloves and wash off any contamination and avoid contact with eyes and skin Potential Side effects from tick preventatives Quoting from Kathleen Dudley, Belvoir Publications, Inc 2002 Summary of laboratory studies: (rats, mice, dogs).Given enough time, most pesticides eventually cause enough injuries that they are identified as hazards and are removed from the market.

Pepperticks appear in the hot months of the year, around the south-west, and get their name from their appearance; a sprinkling of pepper. They usually travel in swarming herds, or whatever a large number of ticks is called. They are difficult to spot on clothing and unlikely to be felt traveling across one's naked skin, due to their minuscule size.
They have six legs; when they have eaten a "blood meal", they can grow, and molt their skin to grow some more.

These ticks are actually baby versions of the well-known "kangaroo tick" (Amblyomma triguttatum) of Western Australia. The adult tick has eight legs and looks superficially like a spider.
These ticks normally dine on the blood of kangaroos, hence the name. Unfortunately, some bushwalkers smell sufficiently like kangaroos to confuse the poor hungry little things! But it does seem that, like mosquitoes, ticks will target some unlucky human individuals while ignoring others. It's also possible that ticks avoid people who use insect repellent.
Kangaroo ticks seem to reach their adult size by the end of the year, just in time to lay eggs and start hatching out pepperticks for summer and autumn. The adults are reddish-brown with yellow joints, and some have yellow marks on the back.
In winter, ticks are sluggish and not as prevalent, which is another reason for bushwalkers like me to enjoy being out in the cold.

(a) “HOMEOPATHICS” are sold in either a clear liquid or tiny white pills or granules – both have no odour or taste) Easy “application dosing” for all species:
Refer to Bottle Label for suggested frequencies repeat dosing needed per day.
NOTE: the rule is one must “repeat a dose” more frequently with less time in between each application dose, which is more important than the amount given each time. Repeat application will provide faster action.
(b) “HERBAL MEDICINES ” (brown liquid – strong odour & tasting) ”Application dosing” for all species: Canine, equine, cow, sheep, goat : add herbal drops (as recommended on bottle label) to some (unsweetened apple sauce or apple juice) for canines and oral syringe side of mouth. Can add other vitamins (crushed) Alkaline green powders etc. to mix. Refer to: Bottle Label for amount of drops per species size. Feline, toy dog, rabbit, or other small animals: add 3 – 4 drops of the brown herbal formula add 1 teaspoon of hot water from kettle, let cool, add another teaspoon of cold water, then oral dose side of mouth – with small sips at a time until 1ml is taken.
What I do for example: If I was needing to give herb treatments and/or vitamin supplements to feline or toy dog or other small animals – I add this herbal formula to a small bowl add some boiled water (about a teaspoon) to it so to dissolve the alcohol in it, let cool, then add what vitamins If needed (powder or crushed tab – a pinch) mixed in another 50ml of water, and oral syringe once a day or twice a day …smear on a little “vegemite paste” (if cannot get Vegemite in your country, try fresh pate or slippery elm powder added can help mask the taste) around and on tip of oral syringe, as felines seem to real like the taste of this paste, but not too much as it is quite a strong taste)
(c) “NUTRITIONAL Mix ” Giving vitamins and supplements (tablets or powders) NB. Always crush tablet before adding to food or liquid mix. Felines or small animals: make up 1/4 cup of mixture, adding approx. a pinch of some type of Green powder (alkaline powder) or Chlorella powder (cleansing of toxins) or Vital Greens (highly nutritional) with 10 drops of herbs if you are having to also give herbal medicines (i.e. brown liquid) (after a little hot water added to dissolve alcohol) Med to large animals: add twice to three times the amount.
DOSING: Feline or small animal: using an oral syringe draw up 1ml and gently small sips. Or add a teaspoon to meals if they don’t mind eating it with meals (mix well into food) Do not put in Fridge. Room temp is best as too cold is dislike by felines.
DOSING: Canine, equine, cow, sheep, goat: try mixing well into food and hand piece before feeding main meals. Or dose same as suggested for felines, but add three times as much herbal medicines and vitamins to 1/2 cup of water or (unsweetened) apple sauce or apple juice.
What I do for example: If i was needing to give herb treatments and/or vitamin supplements to feline or toy dog or other small animals – I add this herbal formula to a small bowl add some boiled water (about a teaspoon) to it so to dissolve the alcohol in it, let cool, then add what vitamins If needed (powder or crushed tab – a pinch) mixed in another 50ml of water, and oral syringe once a day or twice a day …. smear on a little “vegemite paste” (if cannot get Vegemite in your country, try fresh pate or slippery elm powder added can help mask the taste) around and on tip of oral syringe, as felines seem to real like the taste of this paste, but not too much as it is quite a strong taste)
Slippery Elm Powder If needing to add or use Slippery Elm powder
FOR CONDITIONS like …. diarrhea, stomach ulcers, or sore inflamed mouth or mouth ulcers, constipation, or IBS (i.e. colitis), plus it can also been given as a liquid meal given orally via syringe as it is highly nutritional (oral liquid feeding) for convalescing during illness when not eating solids.
CONVALESCING ..can been given as a liquid meal given orally via syringe as it is highly nutritional (oral liquid feeding) for convalescing during illness when not eating solids or not eating very well. ~ Add a small amount of powder to the mix to enough to make a runny liquid mix, if you put too much of the powder it will become thick and gluggy, if this happens you will need to add more liquid to it. Can add crushed vitamins and herbal medicines to this as well. OPTIONS: Oral dose in syringe or add to meals three times a day or more to maintain normal health again, then can stop or reduce frequencies.
